Laser marking machine is a marking equipment that uses laser beam to mark on the surface of various substances. Common laser marking machines include fiber laser marking machine, CO2 laser marking machine and UV laser marking machine, etc. The main difference between the three types of laser marking machines is that the laser, laser wavelength and application areas are different.
Fiber laser marking machine
Fiber laser marking machine is a marking equipment that uses fiber laser to hit the laser beam on the surface of various different substances and make physical or chemical changes to the surface substances through light energy, so as to engrave patterns, trademarks and text and other marks. Its components include: fiber laser, laser oscillator, field lens, industrial control computer, monitor, cabinet, control switch, power supply, scale and lifting axis, etc. MOPA laser marking machine also belongs to fiber laser marking machine type.
CO2 Laser Marking Machine
CO2 laser marking machine adopts gas laser with infrared wavelength of 10.64μm, charging CO2 gas into high pressure discharge tube to produce glowing discharge, so that the gas molecules release laser, the laser energy amplifies to form a laser beam on the material processing, the laser beam makes the processed body surface vaporization to achieve the purpose of engraving.
UV Laser Marking Machine
UV laser marking machine adopts 355nm ultraviolet laser to hit the laser beam on the surface of different substances, and the short wavelength laser directly breaks the molecular chain of substances, so as to engrave patterns, trademarks and text and other mark marking equipment.
The differences between fiber, CO2 and UV laser marking machines are as follows.
- Laser is different: fiber laser marking machine using fiber laser, carbon dioxide laser marking machine using CO2 gas laser, ultraviolet laser marking machine using short wavelength of ultraviolet laser.
- UV laser is a very different technology from carbon dioxide and fiber laser technology, UV laser is also known as the blue laser beam, the technology has a low heat engraving ability, it is not like fiber and carbon dioxide laser marking machine to heat the surface of the material, belonging to the cold light engraving.
- Laser wavelength is different: fiber marking machine laser wavelength of 1064nm, CO2 laser marking machine laser wavelength of 10.64μm, ultraviolet laser marking machine laser wavelength of 355nm.
- Application areas are different: CO2 laser marking machine for most of the non-metallic materials and some metal products engraving, fiber laser marking machine for most of the metal materials and some non-metallic materials engraving, UV laser marking machine can clearly mark all the plastic and other materials that have a bad reaction to heat.
